The Senior Dinner Dance has been rescheduled for Saturday, MARCH 21, 7 pm to 10 pm at the Diamond and a Dream. Cost is $50 cash or check payable to "MCS Class of 2026".

It is designed to assist our learning community in reporting any wrongdoing that impacts our schools, our students, or our staff—anonymously, to protect one's privacy. For example, one may wish to report acts of violence, theft, drug or alcohol use, weapons, or sexual harassment.

Registration is open for FLCC’s week-long summer camps for students entering grades 6 to 9 in fall 2026. Camps run from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $250. The registration link is flcc.edu/steam.

Lunchtime webinar: The College will host a free artificial intelligence webinar on Tuesday, March 10, at noon. “NotebookLM: Summarize, Analyze, and Create in Seconds” provides a demonstration in the use of NotebookLM, a Google product that allows you to upload your own data and documents to build a knowledge base.

AI for Educators: The next course in the AI for Educators series is “Chatbots!” It might sound complicated, but making a chatbot to assist you in your daily work is easier than you think. This course will look at what chatbots are, what differentiates them from a regular, purpose-driven chat, how to create them, and how to share them. Products covered include ChatGPT (CustomGPTs) and Google's Gemini (Gems) as well as a hyper-focused chatbot using NotebookLM.

Spring Break Activity: Muller Field Station in Canadice will host a Youth Spring Break program for ages 8 to 12 on Wednesday, April 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $10. Students bring their own lunches. Details, registration and payment are online.

Field Trips: Muller Field Station’s spring field trip dates are nearly filled. Schools interested in scheduling a date for environmental education experiences should book soon.

Junior Discovery Days: FLCC will host four special visit events for juniors who are starting their college exploration process. Students can register online for 9 a.m. or 1 p.m. sessions during spring break on March 31 and April 2.

Science and Tech Careers: The Victor Campus Center will host a Career Expo and Job Fair focused on science and technology programs and related jobs on Thursday, April 9, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Art for All Ages: ArtSpace36, the College’s gallery in downtown Canandaigua, hosts a wide range of programming on evenings and weekends. See the March list on the FLCC website events calendar.

March 24: The College will host a conference for educators, workforce and economic development professionals on the Work Keys credentialing system. Registration is requested by March 10.

April 24: This is the deadline for incoming FLCC students to apply for local scholarships, ranging from $500 to a full year of tuition. The application link and tips for filling it out are available on the website news blog.

Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches participants how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders in adolescents and young adults. This training gives participants the skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to a young person who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them with the appropriate care.

Our Marion Jr. Sr. High School seniors will be conducting the annual Phone-a-Thon March 10-March 18th. Missed our call, you may send all donations to Marion Knights Scholarship, 4034 Warner Rd, Marion, NY 14505. We hope that the community will continue to show their Marion support by contributing to this fund.
The Marion Knights Scholarships are awarded to participating members of the graduating class to be used for furthering their education or for career development, including military enlistment. The awards are awarded based on the scholarship application.
The deadline for us to receive checks to be included in this year’s distribution is May 15th. Thank you for your continued support!
