Marion senior Kayla Bellefontaine signs letter of intent for Corning Community College.
Basketball and volleyball at the college level came calling for Kayla Bellefontaine.

What’s a Marion senior to do? Play both, of course.

Bellefontaine gathered with family, friends and Marion staff on January 14 to sign her letter of intent to play both volleyball and basketball at Corning Community College next year.

Initially, Bellefontaine checked out Corning CC to play basketball.

“But then the volleyball coach reached out,” she said.

Bellefontaine, the daughter of Andre and Heidi Bellefontaine and older sister of Dylan, plans to major in Radiology. She’s coached in volleyball at Marion by McKenzie Buckles and in basketball by Beth Brennan for the merged Williamson/Marion team.
She’s excited to lock up her college plans, especially at Corning.

“It’s a small campus, almost like Marion,” she said. “I interacted with the teams and they interacted with me. I’m excited to go play for them.”

Congratulations Kayla!
