Pennyfund Drive raises $2,329.16 for Marion Food Pantry

Annual NHS event for the district raises largest total in five years

The 2025 Pennyfund at Marion was an enormous success!

The annual National Honor Society event raised $2,329.16 between the Elementary and Jr.-Sr. High schools. NHS advisor Mrs. Thompson said this total is the highest amount in the last five years and will benefit the Marion Food Pantry.

This year’s senior class won the Jr.-Sr. High contest by raising the most money and will attend the Ohmann Theatre in Lyons for a movie. At the elementary school, the fifth graders won and will get a pizza party at school at a future date. 

The Jr.-Sr. High student body celebrated this year’s Pennyfund with the annual assembly on December 19. Congratulations to everyone who participated in this year’s event!
