Nine Marion high school students were inducted into the National Honor Society for the 2025-26 school year in a ceremony attended by friends and family.
On November 17, Ashllyn Maynard and Madison Wagner from the Class of 2026 were honored while Ethan Barnett, Zoe Halstead, Melanie Heers, Zoe Hollingshead, Alana McNutt, Sean Meyer and Lea Synard from the Class of 2027 were recognized.
Monday’s ceremony was led by the current NHS members that include Sienna Mattison (president), Lydia McKay (vice president), Madelyn Frey (secretary), Aaron Meyer (treasurer) and Kaydence Potter (historian). Each took the time to address the new inductees to emphasize the NHS pillars of Scholarship, Service, Leadership and Character.
The new inductees then lit symbolic candles before taking the NHS pledge to “uphold the highest purposes of the National Honor Society.”
Following the closing remarks by Superintendent Dr. Ellen Lloyd, the NHS members and families enjoyed refreshments in the cafeteria. Congratulations to our nine new members of National Honor Society!
