Cora Muller Honored For Leadership

Cora Muller, a junior at Marion Junior-Senior High School, received the 2024 Youth Leadership Award from New York State Senator Pamela Helming earlier this month.

The Youth Leadership Award recognizes students who display leadership through academics, athletics, extracurricular activities and/or community service.

“This was a great opportunity for me and I am very appreciative and very happy to have received this award,” Cora said. “It is great recognition and it is nice because I put a lot of work into everything that I do and the fact that other people notice makes it more special.”

Cora, who is president of Marion’s Class of 2025, is a member of National Honor Society and Student Council and currently ranks first in her class academically. She is vice president of the German Club and has received academic awards in German, Mathematics, Science, English and Social Studies.

She also participates in Band, Marching Band, Choir, Select Choir, Show Choir the Vocal Solo Festival and Marion’s annual musical.

Cora was recognized by the Marion Board of Education at its regular meeting on March 18.
