Marion Knights Scholarship Fund Raising Drive Begins

For more than 30 years, the Marion Knights Scholarship has helped graduating seniors at Marion High School.

The group’s annual phone-a-thon begins March 11 and will last through March 21. Calls will take place between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. Each member of the senior class is eligible to participate and funds can be used to help defray costs for students who are entering college, the military or the work force.

All of the money raised goes directly to members of the senior class who participate in the phone-a-thon and complete a required essay. Almost $10,400 was raised last year and $50,617 has been raised the past five years. Eighty-five students have received Marion Knights Scholarships the past five years.

The Marion Knights Scholarship Committee is a 100% volunteer organization. Theresa Kuhn and Jenna Atkins serve as co-presidents of the organization and recently launched a website.

Any pledges received before May 31 of this year will be used for 2024 scholarships and donations are tax deductible. Checks should be made out to Marion Knights Scholarship. Checks may be dropped off at the Junior-Senior High School or mailed to:
