Ava Schubert, a senior at Marion Junior-Senior High School, has signed a National Letter of Intent to study Education and  play Division III soccer at Alfred University.

Ava was a four-year varsity player and three-time Wayne County All-Star as a defensive midfielder. She scored three goals and added one assist during her senior season.

Ava will join a Saxons’ squad that went 4-6-7 this season under coach Craig Yanni. Ava was joined at a signing reception in the library on Thursday by her parent, Elly Schubert-Grevell, brother, Jack Schubert, high school coaches Lori DeLyser and Rob Marotta, along with her grandparents, aunts, uncles, family members, friends, teachers, administrators and teammates.
