District To Begin Offering No-Cost Meals On Nov. 1
We are pleased to announce that beginning Wednesday November 1, 2023, all students attending Marion Central School may receive one regular school breakfast and one regular school lunch per day at no cost to your household.
This implementation is a result of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) expanding access to the federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). CEP allows eligible schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs to offer school meals at no charge to all students. No-cost CEP meals will be available for all Marion students starting November 1, 2023 and for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year. Note that CEP participation in future school years may depend on continued availability of Federal and State funds. No further action is required by families.
Any additional meals, extra milk, and a la carte snack items are not free and will still need to be purchased even after November 1st. Students will need money on account or cash for any of these additional purchases. Remember that you can see your student’s account history and add money to their account at www.myschoolbucks.com.
