Marion's Spring Musical Shines With 'Stars of Tomorrow 'Awards
The cast and crew of Marion Junior-Senior High School’s spring musical “Anything Goes” registered a clean sweep at the Rochester Broadway Theatre League’s 25th Stars of Tomorrow Gala on Thursday night.
“Anything Goes” received awards for Excellence in Production Design, Production Crew, Acting Ensemble, Vocal Ensemble, and Dance Ensemble. The show, cast and crew also won a Bob Sagen Award for Overall Excellence in Musical Production.
Seniors Faith Rinella (Reno Sweeney) and Meredith Kemp (Erma) also received individual awards for Overall Excellence in a Leading Role in a musical.
Director Shelly West Thompson was also one of four people honored with an RBTL Impact Award for her dedication and commitment to the Marion Central School drama program.
“Thank you to the cast, crew, staff and community members who make this annual production a truly professional experience for everyone involved,” Thompson said. “This has become a source of both school and community pride and it is most definitely a school and community-wide effort!”
