FFA Members Participate in District Event

Members of the Marion FFA chapter traveled to Marcus Whitman High School on Saturday, Feb. 4, for the District VIII Leadership Development Event (LDE) competition. Students had a great time competing (most for their first time in FFA) and meeting students from other schools in our FFA district. These LDE competitions help students develop public speaking, leadership, and job readiness skills.

Below are a list of students who attended and the events they competed in:  

Aeris Maynard: (First place Ag Issues Forum team)

Alivia Vandergrift: (Eighth place tie Extemporaneaous Speaking)

Caleb Smith, Cash MacNeal: (Eighth place tie Extemporaneous Speaking, Job Employment Skills)

Emery Sirkin: (Second place Jr. Prepared Speaking)

Gracie Evans and Haden Williams: (First place Ag Issues Forum team, fourth place Extemporaneous Speaking)

M. Maynard: (First place Job Employment Skills)

Rebecca VanCamp: (First place Ag Issues Forum, second place Sr. Prepared Speaking). 

Aeris Maynard, Haden Williams, Rebecca VanCamp, Emery Sirkin and M. Maynard all advanced to compete in sub-states at Byron-Bergen High School on March 18.
