Oct. 7 Update on Superintendent Search

October 7, 2022

Dear Marion Community,

As our week comes to an end, I would like to send a note of gratitude to the Marion Community. The survey closed and you had over 200 survey participants - thank you!  In addition to the survey, this week I had the opportunity to have conversations with many different stakeholders, including parents, staff, community members, and students.  Conversations have been rich with feedback on what qualities you would like your next superintendent to have.  Since the search has started, the community has been wonderful in its commitment to the Marion search process.  There is no doubt that you have demonstrated how special Marion is!

Next steps in the search process will be to confidentially compile the feedback submitted through the survey and conversations, and share the information with the Marion Board of Education.  The application period ends October 21.  After October 21, the Board will use the information collected to review the applicants and determine a possible pool of candidates to interview.  Following the initial interview round by the Board, they will make further decisions as to their next steps.  We will continue to keep you informed.  It is still the Board’s hope to have a candidate chosen by December.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.  Enjoy the beautiful Fall weather.

Dr. Vicky Ramos
