Kitty Goodridge and Friends

Kathleen “Kitty” Goodridge retired from the Marion Central School District on Friday, Oct. 15 after working in the food service department for 25 years.

Kitty took a few minutes to reflect on her time in the District and what she has in store for the future.

Congratulations, Kitty. You will be missed.

Name: Kathleen (Kitty) Goodridge.

Occupation: Assistant Food Service Director.

Years at Marion: 25 years.

Hometown: I have resided in Marion for 35 years, but grew up in Corning, N.Y.

Family: My husband Lee of 38 years. I have 2 sons Peter (Daughter-in-law Melissa and 2 granddaughters Gabriella and Savannah who live in Clinton, N.Y.) and David Goodridge (Girlfriend Brittany of Beaver Dams, N.Y.) and daughter Linda of Fairport.

What did you like most about your job: My boss Warren Bushart is a great boss. I love the ladies I work with (Lori, Debbie, Penny, Barb, Evie, Patti, Kim, Jill, Kelly and Lynette) and Zach who helps at the Elementary School. I have enjoyed the challenges that come along every day, being flexible, filling in where needed, the office work and, of course, the huge challenge Covid presented. These food service workers were the hardest working of all. It's been an honor.

What are your plans for retirement: We sold our house in Marion and have a retirement home on Black Lake. We love the seasons of boating, swimming, kayaking, walks in the foliage, fishing/hunting, cross country skiing, and snow shoeing.
