Budget Vote Set For Tuesday, May 18

The District's annual school budget vote is scheduled for Tuesday, May 18 from noon until 8 p.m. at Marion Elementary School. 

Residents will decide on the following:

  • A $21,090,290 operating budget that includes a 1.59% tax levy increase, which is the lowest it has been in four years.
  • A proposition to purchase three new full-size passenger school buses at an estimated aggregate cost of $325,000 to be expended out of the Bus Capital Reserve Fund.
  • One Board of Education seat. Incumbent Michele Kuelling and Daniel Hollebrandt are seeking the three-year term that runs from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2024.

In order to be a qualified voter, an individual must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years of age and a District resident at least 30 days prior to the vote.
