District Posts Four Job Openings
The Marion Central School District is hiring for four key positions: Assistant Principal for grades K-12; Data Coordinator; Certified Elementary Classroom Teacher and Library Media Specialist.

K-12 ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
The position of K-12 Assistant Principal is a vital leadership position in the Marion Central School District. The individual filling this position will, in conjunction with the Elementary and Junior-Senior. High School Principals, provide leadership and direction for faculty, students, support staff, and parents in the total education process. The K-12 Assistant Principal has the responsibility to not only help others grow, but to continually pursue his/her own professional growth. Such individual growth is a fundamental expectation for this position.
Marion Elementary and Junior-Senior High School Principals
- Hold New York State School Administrator certification or certificate of internship.
- Have completed a minimum of five years of successful teaching and/or Administrative experience.
- Hold a Master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
- Hold high and clear expectations for students, staff, and self.
- Be able to work effectively with a variety of staff and community groups.
- Possess a management style which fosters a team effort.
- Knowledge of curriculum and the instructional supervision process.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
The position of K-12 Assistant Principal is a twelve-month administrative position. The terms established in accordance with the contract between the Superintendent of Schools and the Marion Administrators Association.

DATA COORDINATOR, SOCIAL MEDIA/WEBSITE SUPPORT
The position of Data Coordinator, Social Media/Website Support is a 12-month position. The successful candidate will be a confidential employee in the District Office with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2021.
The successful candidate will work closely with and support the Director of Educational Services, acting as the central point of contact for data collection activities for the Marion Central School District. Other responsibilities will include registering new students (UPK-12), managing Home School, updating SchoolTool with student and faculty contact information and supporting social media platforms and the district website. He/she will also support the Athletic Director with clerical duties.
Proficient or ability to gain proficiency in Level Zero, SchoolTool, My Learning Plan, nVision, Rschools, NYS TEACH, SchoolMessenger, and Blackboard.

CERTIFIED CLASSROOM TEACHER
The District is seeking a Certified Classroom Teacher for Marion Elementary School. New York State certification in Grades 1-6 is required for this probationary appointment with a start date of Sept. 1, 2021.
The candidate must be fingerprinted and cleared by SED for employment at a cost paid by the candidate.
The successful candidate will be a person of high integrity, who places students’ needs above his or her own professional preferences. He or she will be a strong team contributor, embrace professional risk-taking, and value innovation as a necessary attribute for continuous growth. The candidate must have the ability to plan and deliver engaging, personalized and innovative lessons, work collaboratively with grade level team, as well as support students’ academic and social emotional growth. Preference will be given to those with SPED and/or literacy certification.

LIBRARY MEDIA SPECIALIST
The District is seeking a full-time Library Media Specialist for Marion Junior-Senior High School and Marion Elementary School. New York State certification as a School Media Specialist is required. The start date is Sept. 1, 2021.
The successful candidate candidate will be student centered with excellent knowledge of library skills and procedures. He/she will be a strong team contributor, embrace professional risk-taking, and value innovation as a necessary attribute for continuous growth, as well as have a knowledge of computers as instructional tools and library aids. The candidate must be able to “personalize” each student’s learning experience by establishing positive relationships with students, providing learning experiences relevant to each student, and leveraging instructional technology and digital content.
