Boys Indoor Track Team Wins Division Title
The Marion Boys Indoor Track Team ran away with the Wayne-Finger Lakes Division II championship last weekend
The Black Knights finished with 108 points. Honeoye was second with 78.5.
Highlights included:
- Mack Brewington finishing first in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 3:07.48, first in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:52.89, and first in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 11:09.01.
- Ben DeYoung finished first in the 55 hurdles with a time of 8.55.
- The Boys 4-by-400 meter relay team (Tyler Couperus, Logan Karpp, Matt Hosbach and Jason Lonneville) finished first with a time of 4:07.11.
- Jonathan Lonneville finished first in Sectionals in Pole Vault with a height of 9'6".
- Liam De La Osa Cruz competed in the 1600 Meter Run, 3200 Meter Run, and 4x800 Meter Relay.
- Ryan Sicienski competed in the 1600 Meter Run.
- Aiden Miller competed in the 4x800 Meter Relay and the 3200 Meter Run.
- Darius Brewington and Jason Knight competed in the shot put.
The girls team finished sixth in their division with 41 points.
- Hayley Wurster competed in the 55 Meter Dash, 4x200 Meter Relay and high jump.
- Hannah Roegiers competed in the 55 meter dash and the 4x200 Meter Relay.
- Ava Schubert competed in the 300 meter dash.
- Delaney Szostak competed in the 300 meter dash, 600 meter run, and 4x200 Relay.
- Kristin Boerman competed in the 1000 meter run.
- Meredith DeYoung competed in the 4x200 Meter Relay and high jump.
- Whitney Welch competed in the shot put.
- Leah Boerman competed in the shot put and 1500 meter race walk.
- Megan McGregor and McKaylah VanderMeere competed in the 1500 meter race walk.
Sectionals are scheduled for Friday night, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Pinnacle.
