Congratulations to the cast and crew of "Mary Poppins" for winning the Best Musical of 2025 at the ELENBE Awards in Newark Tuesday night.
This award belongs to each and every person who worked to make this show a success: cast on stage, students backstage, students in the lighting and sound booths, parents and community members who work on sets and costumes and parents who provide us dinners on long rehearsal days.
A very special “thank you” goes out to Mrs. Maine for all of her work on vocals and hours at the piano and also to Mr. Herlan, who took over the job of sound this year.
"The spring musical this year was outstanding and it was a staff, student and community effort," said director Shelly Thompson.
Marion performers also received four other ELENBE awards on Tuesday:
- Aidan Rittenhouse: Best Male Actor to perform a leading role in a musical.
- Bella Keyser: Runner-Up for Best Female Actress to perform a leading role in a musical and the "Show Must Go On Award" for her positive influence on the production of Mary Poppins.
- Maria James: Producer’s Award for her artistic work on Mary Poppins.
"DANKE to Aidan, Bella, Maria and the entire cast and crew for another job well done!" said Thompson. "On to next year!"
