Residents of Marion Central School District on Tuesday night approved both the district budget for the 2025-26 school year and the proposition to purchase fuel-operated buses.

The budget (Proposition 1) passed by a count of 220 in favor, 60 opposed. Proposition 2, for the buses, passed by a count of 224 in favor, 56 opposed.

Voters also elected candidates to fill two (2) seats on the Marion Board of Education. Incumbent John Reesor received 168 votes, Tracey Tull received 173 votes and Cindy Matteson received 179 votes. There were a total of 10 write-in candidates.

The two candidates with the greatest number of votes were elected to fill two Board of Education seats, which means Cindy Matteson and Tracey Tull were elected to terms that will begin on July 1, 2025.
