It has been a busy summer on Marion Central School District grounds this year.

Capital Project work has begun – and in some cases completed – at Marion Elementary School, Marion Junior-Senior High School and the Marion Bus Garage over the past two months.

The improvements are part of a $14 million Capital Project that was approved by District voters in 2020. Work will continue through 2024.

This summer’s projects include:

Marion Bus Garage 

New roof installation 

Repaving bus parking lot to improve water flow runoff and drainage

New key card door access entry system

Marion Elementary School 

Abatement 

Demolition and installation of new playground 

New roof installation

New public address system and key card door entry access system

Renovated Nurses office and Counseling offices

New restrooms

New elevator

New gym bleachers, wall pads, and floor refinishing (summer of 2023)

New ceilings and lights

Marion Junior-Senior High School 

Abatement 

Bathroom renovations 

Construction of storage shed 

Gym floor refinishing with new logo and lines

Resurfacing of track and tennis courts

Some new ceilings and lights

 New key card door access entry system

New scoreboard
