CAPITAL PROJECT UPDATE
On December 6, 2016, the public voted to approve a capital project that includes work at both the Elementary, and Jr/Sr High School. This project entails extensive renovations to the front entryway of Marion Elementary school, enhancing is accessibility and creating a single entry point for security. At the Jr/Sr High, the Library will be transformed into a 21st Century learning space titled the "Interactive Personalized Learning Center" or IPLC. The funding for this project includes use of the District's capital reserves, as well as the issue of bonds supported by aid from the state. There is no local tax levy impact as a result of this project.
Phase I of the project is complete, and both buildings have been equipped with new boilers. Phase II is slated to begin this winter, pending final approval of the building designs from the NYS Department of Education. Please see the update bulletins below for design renderings and anticipated project timelines.
