Dear Students & Parents,

Our summer is coming to an end and the school year is just around the corner.  We are looking forward to having our students return this fall.  The first day back for students is Wednesday, September 8th.

Our belief is that building and partnership between our students, parents and school will offer every student the greatest opportunity for success.  Please feel free to communicate and ask any questions regarding your child’s education.

The following are some updates and information to help start the school.

Ø      Our daily schedule will remain as it has been in the past.  School begins at 7:25 a.m. daily and ends at 2:09 p.m., except on Wednesday, when it ends at 1:26 p.m.

Ø      The building doors will remain locked until 7:15 AM everyday and students should not come until this time (the exception is for breakfast – see below).

Ø      Our breakfast program will continue to serve students and will start on Wednesday, September 8th.  Any students who are interested in purchasing breakfast should arrive between 7:05 AM and 7:20 AM.  Only students having breakfast will have access to the building before 7:15 a.m.

Ø      All students should report to homeroom at 7:25 AM.  Homeroom locations will be posted at each entrance so students will be able to find their homeroom.

Ø      Parents are asked to please drop off or pick up students in the upper parking lot between the following hours so they are not held up by busses:

Mon., Tue., Thur., Fri.                        7:00-7:30 a.m.

2:00-2:25 p.m.

2:50-3:00 p.m.

Wed.                                                            7:00-7:30 a.m.

1:15-1:30 p.m.

NOTE: It is unlawful to pass a stopped school bus, with its lights on even in the bus loop.

Ø      Student pictures will be taken on the first day of school.  If you choose to order copies of this school picture (ordering pictures is optional), you should have received an order form in the mail from Upstate Portrait.  If you did not receive it, there are extra copies in the Main Office.

Ø      NOTE FOR SENIORS - In addition to the individual pictures, a class picture will be taken during the first day of school for the yearbook.  If you wish to order a copy of this CLASS picture, the forms will be handed out before the picture is taken.  Again, ordering this picture is optional.

Ø      Information regarding parking has been sent out to junior and senior students.  Student parking is in rows 3-6 in the upper parking lot only.  If students have any questions please have them check with Mrs. Adriaansen in the Main Office.

Ø      We will continue to implement a Minimum Attendance Policy.  This year students will be required to be in class at least 90% of each quarter in order for them to receive a passing grade for the term.  The complete policy can be found in the Student/Parent Handbook.

We are looking forward to another successful year, with the expectation of building on our past accomplishments and achievements.  Should you have any questions, please contact the Main Office or appropriate department to discuss the matter.  See you soon!

Sincerely,

Duane Perry                                                     Jeffrey J. Casper
