Marion is a community of approximately 29 square miles in size and has approximately 5,000 residents. The village of Marion is located about six miles north of Palmyra on Route 21 in Wayne County and ten miles south of Lake Ontario, which offers many recreational opportunities.
Potatoes and onions thrive on rich muck land and apple orchards dot the scenic landscape. While there are some dairy farms throughout the community, the agricultural base is comprised of cash crop farming. The city and suburbs of Rochester also provide employment to many community residents.
The school district enjoys strong community support and active involvement in school-related activities. Community Advisory committees assist the Board of Education with budget development, facilities, transportation and academic issues.
